PRESS: Tele2 pioneers in offering clients to switch to eSIM

MOSCOW, Apr 29 (PRIME) -- T2 RTK Holding, working under the Tele2 brand, has become the first Russian mobile operator to offer subscribers to try an eSIM, a SIM card integrated into a mobile device, business daily Vedomosti reported on Monday, citing a company spokesperson.

A transfer to the eSIM can be ordered from Monday at five Tele2 stores in Moscow. The service will appear in 83 more stores in Moscow and the Moscow Region no later than by Sunday.

Virtual mobile operators working on T2 RTK Holding’s network will not take part in the initiative.

T2 RTK Holding will offer various scenarios of switching to the eSIM, but subscribers will have first to pay a visit to a store and get a physical SIM card.

In order to start using an eSIM, a subscriber should scan a QR code provided by an operation or download an application, and a new number will be inscribed into the eSIM installed on a device.
